The club meeting originally scheduled for Saturday 26th October has now been moved to the following Sunday 3rd November. The meeting will take place in the Main Hall only.
The Committee have noted that the trial Saturday meeting held on 27th April was not well supported and we understand that members have other calls on their time on Saturdays.Since the Hall costs more to rent on a Saturday there seemed little point in extending the experiment and we were happy to swap dates with the Caesaromagus competition which will now take place over the weekend of 26th/27th October.
The remaining dates for 2019 are listed below for your convenience. (Main Hall only except where marked)

Essex Warriors usually meets in the Main Hall at Writtle Village Hall. However, this year we have arranged to have access to the Small Rear Hall in addition to the Main Hall on six occasions. To achieve this we have moved two Sunday meetings to a Saturday; so the meeting on Sunday 28th April has been moved to Saturday 27th April and the meeting on Sunday 27th October has been moved to Saturday 26th October. Four Sunday meetings have also been expanded to include the Small Hall; these are 2nd June, 29th September, 10th November and 22nd December.
Our 9th June 2019 meeting has been rescheduled to 2nd June in order to avoid a diary clash with another group using the Hall. The website calendar has been updated and an updated list of 2019 dates is attached. Essex Warriors Meetings 2019
Entries are invited for Essex Warriors DBM Tournament 2019. The tournament is being organised by this year’s winner, Drew Jarman, and will be played over four rounds using the 32-0 BHGS scoring system with each round spread over three months starting immediately on or after the AGM, which takes place on 6th January 2019.
Players should be aware that entering the tournament commits them to playing four games of DBM using their chosen army during 2019. Entrants should submit one 400 point army list, taken from either the DBM 2nd Edition Lists or the DBMM Revised lists up to 1500 AD. Players may not chose from both list versions in the same army selection, e.g. if using the DBM list they can’t take a DBMM ally contingent or vice versa. Players must also specify the exact date of their chosen army along with list version and book number, its Aggression Rating and Geographic Region to avoid any confusion.
Entries are required by the 16th December 2018 meeting with the lists submitted to Drew by email over the Xmas holiday up to and including the 31st December 2018. Drew has already contacted those who took part in this year’s contest. If you have not already received an invitation and are interested in entering, please contact Drew Jarman direct at email@example.com
We have two large games taking place over the next couple of months.
First up, we have a 28mm English Civil War game on 18th November using To The Strongest rules and presented by Martin Gilling. With eight players already signed up it should be an impressive spectacle.
Then on 16th December Club President Les Mills is planning a game using What A Tanker rules with 15mm vehicles. Again the game is designed for eight players. Please contact Les if you are interested in playing.
